Kitsch is seen as decorative objects or art that are attractive to people who are thought to lack any appreciation of style or beauty (Cambridge Dictionary, 2020). Kitsch is a German word meaning ‘in bad taste’.
Unlike minimalism. kitsch is the excessive use of colours and decorations, these can be seen in interior design.

An example of artwork that is kitsch is ‘Sunset on Lamplight Lane’ by Thomas Kinkade. This piece almost becomes overwhelming to look at.
